presario (2392), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Jun 11, 2006 Good looking copper-amber with a light head. Strong caramel and vanilla aroma. I am not a big fan of vanilla flavours in beer. Thin body. Interesting flavour. Vanilla cookies and light hops. With more body to balance the vanilla it might be quite nice. georgekessel (68), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Sep 5, 2006 The taste of hops was overwhelming - a bit like syrupy hops :( The head was perfect - appearance was nice but the overwhelming hoppiness was just too much for us to handle herbstress3 (221), Bellingham, Washington, USA Mar 5, 2003 They sell this at "The Loft," a restaurant in Tofino, BC and the waitress said it is brewed specifically for them. I'm surprised though cuz the beer wasn't very good and the food kind of sucked. Very bland tasting and little aroma. I wouldn't call this amber-esque at all! frink (467), coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada May 4, 2007 Pours an orange/amber with a decent off white head. That’s about where the good news ends.Slight hop aroma or perhaps it’s just wishful thinking Kind of stale smelling as well. Mild hoppy taste, slight bitter finish metelic taste. Mmmm organic beer. Crit (2234), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada Jul 8, 2007 Amber, small beige head. Neutral nose. Very light malt profile, but very tinny finish. Earlier Rating: 1/4/2003 Total Score: 2.2 Commonly known as James Douglas. Amber color with short lived head. Very faint light malt nose and flavor. Not much more then a mainstream brew.
