pintbypint (881), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Sep 11, 2007 355ml can. Colour is deep gold, head is slightly off white, small and short lasting. Sweet aroma with corn notes. Flavour is sweet and grainy, caramel notes, metallic like hop finish and faint grass trace. Carbonation is high, fizzy, body is light and watery. Alcohol surprisingly didn’t jump out, but still not great. tiggmtl (4179), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Aug 21, 2007 Vegetal cabbage-like DMS dominates the aroma. Clear deep blond/copper coloured body is topped by a fizzy white head that recedes rapidly to a thin partial cover. Sweet notes of toasted cereal grains with plenty of cabbagey DMS and light finishing bitterness. Lasting sweetness in the aftertaste. Watery, light body with very strong, hard bubbled aggressive carbonation. Stem glass. Fridge temperature. Can (BCLS at Kingsgate (Jul-07). pootzboy (872), Calgary/ Kitchener, Alberta, Canada Jul 25, 2007 3rd can from the BC chunder fest gift pack.
Looks decent enough at first glance...burished copper-amber a decent rocky white cap with modest retention...
...then you smell it ; that vegetal sweetness and hints of DMS mingles with fusel notes..yuck!
You do not relish tasting it but it is cleaner than it smells...no off tastes just the adjunct caramel sweetness with insufficient hop balance and lack of maltiness....the adjunct sugars take over the character. Finishes with a weird metallic tang over riding the caramel sweetness...doesn’t seem from any hop I’m familiar with through. Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Apr 22, 2007 Copper-bronze colour. A little bit spicy in the nose with some fusels and caramel. Flavour is caramel, but with some spicy dryness in the finish. Lady_Cooper (100), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Mar 13, 2007 I opened a can and got a whiff of garbage, and not just normal garbage, I’m talking big, dirty city garbage that’s been sitting out in the summer heat and humidity for weeks. Tastes like garbage and...pennies! That’s it! And not freshly minted ones, this is like licking the take-a-penny tray. Oh god, this is awful stuff.
