Draught at brewery. Pours black with a small, fizzy, light brown head, somewhat lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (molasses, chocolate, nutty), light hops (grass), average yeast (leather) with notes of tar and cola. Light bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

On tap @ Palisade Brewery poured a translucent brownish black with a lasting amber head. Aromas of milk chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of cocoa, light coffee and vanilla with a crisp slightly watery finish.
