Commercial Description:
A highly "quaffable" Amber Ale using Palisade Hops to get a distinctly smooth beer, with a hint of citrus. Orchard Amber's clarity and freshness make it a very delicious and popular beer here in the Grand Valley.

12oz bottle. Filtered dark orange-brown color. Decent half-finger head that lasts. Amber aroma, with a touch of butterscotch. Starts off with some rich amber malt character, but really fades into a diacetyl mess. There is a super minimal hoppiness in the aftertaste that might have been able to save it had it been amped up. I suppose an Amber aficionado would have no problem with this one, but I find it a pretty unimpressive product. OK at best.

Pretty new brewery to me. Pours a clear amber colour. Small thin off white head. Decent lacing with noticeable fruity aroma. Apples, cherries and fresh flowers on the nose. Taste is semi sweet with caramel notes and a really soft floral hoppy bitter finish.

Tap at the newly opened Switchback Tavern in Ridgway, CO. Unsatisfying. Thin and watery texture, low on sweetness or fruit or ’extra’ flavors of any kind. Imbalanced as well - not enough hops.

12oz bottle. Poured a medium and slightly hazy amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of toasted grains, caramel, floral hops, and grass. Tastes of toasted grains, caramel, and some citrus.

Draught at brewery. Pours clear amber with a spare, fizzy, white head, diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is average malt (grain, straw, cereal), average hops (flowers), average yeast (dough, sweat) with notes of peach and toffee. Light bodied, thin texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

Amber with thin white head. Aroma of caramel and sweet malts. Mostly malted body with mild caramel flavors. A bit over carbonated but overall not too bad.

Lightly hazed darker amber color with only a few bubbles left afloat after the pour. Earthy pale malt, light caramel and a hint of floral hops. SOme hints of grass and vegetables as it warms. Mild pale malt start, and afraid that is about as good as it gets, which leads to an earthy bitter middle and fairly tart acidic finish and linger. Some toffee does come in as it warms, but still seems unclean to me.
