Dec 12, 2003 Updated: Dec 22, 2003[bottled;3 year old]light brown oak color. Aroma is of oak and malts, maybe dogshit and urine!? the aroma is awful!!!!. Taste is not that far from a very toned down cognac, considering it´s abv, it´s very poorly masked. Watery mouthfeel with a quite belgium meets altbier feeling.. not special and quite forgettable

Nov 15, 2003 Chestnut colour, fully clear; yellowish creamy head, collapsing, lacy. Bit of caramel, dark candi sugar; bit herbal, grassy, slightly hoppy aroma. Taste gives very faint liquorice, even fainter hops. Sweetish but balanced by the hoparoma, however faint. Also the taste of industrial ‘speculoos’, Belgian baking “speciality”. Watery and thinnish mouthfeel; sweet aftertaste. Boring, bland, and hardly different – not better – than not-so-Speciale Palm.

Oct 21, 2003 Updated: Nov 22, 2003November 2003 and the new Dobbel is there! Let's taste! Fruity (orange, raisin, figs) and a little yeasty aroma. Amber color, beige head, very nice lace. Very sweet, fruity (figs), malty, soft. I like it a lot but I'm afraid after 2 or 3 the sweetsness will get annoying.

May 6, 2003 Clear copper body with small beige head. Aroma is fruity (orange, light berry) sweet, light yeasty. Taste is orange, slightly spicy, but more bland than anything else. Finish is somewhat metallic. Slightly watery.

May 5, 2003 Updated: Oct 30, 2004[Draft] An amber beer with next to no head and no aroma. The flavor is funny, fresh, with notes of raspberries. It is a little watery in the middle and ends on a slight bitterness with some fruit notes. Nothing special - too thin. I was disappointed compared to Palm Speciale.

Jan 8, 2003 Fruity nose - of figs perhaps. Amber-gold color and a low disappating head. Quick profile with only a medium malt taste and body. OK brew.
