Tastes pretty much the same as Palm Speciale, just a bit sweeter with a touch of spice added.

Crystal clear dark copper or reddish brown. Small head, vanishes quickly, no lace. Aroma and palate very non-descript. Some sweet malts, a little bitter finish, but very little going on. Watery.

Bottle. Sweet toffee malt aroma. Dark amber with moderate head. Very sweet toffee malt flavor - slightly bitter finish. Decent taste - just a bit too sweet.

Bottle at Maddu Bar in Brussels - just by the European Commission Maddu Tower. A smoky locals bar run by a woman. Good atmosphere. They had this as a special, advertised on each table, though the woman apologised because there were none in the fridge. Soft brown malt with a dry, tannic finish reminiscent of black tea. Pleasant enough.

Bottle. Brownish beer with a relatively strong head. The aroma is quite gently malty and the flavour is quite rich and malty. Overall an average beer.

A Mes rate: 33cl bottle at Steve’s Xmas booze up.
Rich amber colour with a thin white head. Very English aroma, lots of yeast and some slight diacetyl. Caramel and yeast flavour with a slight tarty sweetness. Over carbed. Pretty poor.
