Handpumped at De Zalm, Roeselare. Acidic aroma, slightly moldy, hint of citrus fruit. Cloudy dark orange colour. Big stable, Kräusen-like head. The flavour is quite citric, dry lemon flavour, some woody notes. A little grapefruit bitterness. Quite complex. Thinnish mouthfeel. Low carbonation. Nothing like a regular Palm.

Hazy (particles in the beer) dark golden body, thick lasting white head; Great but not big an aroma, balance of malt, yeast and hop; Very soft textured body, fruity bitter; Medium long very pleasant fresh finish, soft texture, slightly green aromas of fresh green asparagus, green elder berries. Very pleasant surprise!

Handpumb @ Brasserie de Zalm. Unclear amber with large off white long lasting creamy head. Sweet malty aroma with notes of fresh wort and wet barley. Sweet malty flavor with caramel and mild hoppy notes. Ends bitter. Soft mouthfeel and refreshing.

What a difference with a filtered beer. This beer has so much more taste. Very good balanced and a real surprise.

Darught at the Grand Cafe Horta, Antwerp, Belgium 04-10-06. Slightly hazy orangey coloured beer with a fluffy white head. Aroma a bit yeasty and also a little bit of banana detected, little bit nutty in the taste but again detected slight banananess along with yeasty flavour. Very enjoyable beer that I could have had a few of quite comfortably.

Unfiltered keg, Grand Café Horta, Antwerpen March 2004.Hazy amber, good white head and low fine condition. Some malt but mainly yeast in the nose, nutty malt in the mouth with the yeast adding a slightly banana like note. Finish is yeast heavy with a nutty bitterness developing. Better than the bottled and filtered palm, but still not spectacular (unlike the Grand Café which is one of the few places you will find this beer on tap)

Draught, Orange brown hazy coloured beer with some very light carbonation and a small white head. Malty light sweet aroma. Medium to full smouth palate. Finish is light bitter, herby and full creamy. Some clear palm taste but somewhat prefonder. Nice

Draft at the brewery tap. Kept and served cilled to make sure the yeast doesn’t go amok. Sweetish and fruity, very well balanced flavour. Some yeast in there, too. Fine, but the unfiltered Rodenbach was far more interesting. This will be a part of a new concept of serving the PAlm beers in cafes in the near future, so this will be more widely available.
