Slightly hazy dull amber, big bubbles, loose head, no sediment in the bottle. Caramel aroma with butterscotch (more Werther’s than diacetyl), sour apple, a little alcohol and copper. Sweet palate...like one of those cloying new world tripels only less intense and with a hugely metallic finish. The second pour deposits copious protein chunks into the glass. Still a month prior to its BBD. Hrm. Finish shows too much alcohol. I’m inclined to praise Royal Caribbean for going in this direction for their signature brew, not the least reason of which is because it represents a unique addition to their standard brew lineup, but I’m conflicted because this really isn’t a good beer. It’s not dumbed down, thankfully, but from the protein chunks to the strong alcohol note to the mix of unpleasant aromatic components there just isn’t much good going for it. mike1977ok (648), Netherlands

I didn’t noticed the 2% more alcohol at all. Full, creamy beer with a nice fruity aroma. Like to try this one on tap too.. kopestes (164), Braine l’Alleud, Belgium

Clear golden color with thin head and ring of lacing.Malty and hoppy nose with hint of sournes. Medium body and hoppy bitter taste. Long bitterly aftertaste. It left in the mouth quite nice full malty filling. As I can see from other comments it seems that they do not keep same quality for every brew. Sometimes it is good and other time it is not. Or it has to mature in the bottle? This bottle I had (BB 16-08-2007) was quite nice. ogivlado (3088), Zagreb, Croatia

Golden coloured, medium white head. Taste starts with malty caramel, bready and turns into melon in the finish. Not so pleasant brew.

The brewery can’t be found on the bottle (only some American company it’s apparently "brewed for"), but it’s Palm according to the menu. Pored a nice amber-orange colour with a medium sized white head that went at a medium pace. The nose was... blah, faint, sourish, slightly vinuous and cheesey. Shudder. The taste was nice compared to that... a bit original too. Starts of all melon like but that turns into berries in the finish. It’s bready too, and a hint of the yeast can be felt, some faint hops (of good quality) can be felt, a tad lemony. The taste is quite faint and mild though. If it was pronounced, it’d be great. The nose, however.... KnutAlbert (3217), Oslo, Norway
