| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | May 9, 2007 12 oz bottle, on Royal Carribean Cruise. Promoted as Royal Belgian Ale, brewed exclusively for RCCL, apparently not so. Very clear, light copper in color, decent white head. Aroma of dark malt and spices. Flavor spicy, sweet but tart. Good pool side brew, very satisfying under the hot sun. Hansen (2285), Randers, Denmark

Curious lager/ale aroma. Citrus hoppy aroma too, bit empty in the mouth, some toffeeish malt. More syrupy lemon hop on finish. Alcohol is very evident due to lack of malt. Unsubtle and a bit crude. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 23, 2007 Bottled. Didn’t really notice a large difference from regular Palm, except a slightly heavier mouth feel. Only a slight hint of alcohol considering the 7.5%. Hangover (770), Atlanta, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 17, 2007 Had a few on Sovereign of the Seas. Malty aroma with caramel and some metallic notes as well. Taste was sweet, heavy carbonation and a bit of alcohol towards the finish. Not that great, but it was probably the best beer deal on the ship. Tasted better than any of the other beers and had enough booze in it to keep me loose in the casino. DruncanVeasey (2753), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Feb 5, 2007 Updated: Feb 12, 2007Slightly soapy, sourish, yeasty-metallic snout. Opens with a really nasty stale cardboardy graininess, and doesn’t get much better. Overripe fruit and slightly whiskeyish maltiness finishing with a wincing note of booze. Some of Palm’s characteristic breadiness developing after the swallow, but you’d have to be looking for it. Quite partial to their other brews, so this is a massive disappointment.
