Small thin head however, what little bit there is has staying power to the end of the glass. The aroma is rich with roasted and caramel malts that carry into the flavor. Light mouthfeel with a crisp finish. Somewhat of a lingering roasted/caramel malt finish. Very tasty.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 19, 2006 0.33l bottle at home. Clear golden color with thin head and ring of lacing.Malty and hoppy nose with hint of sournes. Medium body and hoppy bitter taste. Long bitterly aftertaste. It left in the mouth quite nice full malty filling. As I can see from other comments it seems that they do not keep same quality for every brew. Sometimes it is good and other time it is not. Or it has to mature in the bottle? This bottle I had (BB 16-08-2007) was quite nice. mike1977ok (648), Netherlands

The pour sparked a slightly inebriated discussion of whether it was "orange or pumpkin" with no decisive winner, but we knew it offered a foamy white head. Aroma suffered from an inappropriate glass but I definitely pulled out the typical belgian spices and citrusy fruits. Flavour was quite nice, and not overly carbonated in the mouthfeel. Good spice accents, stone fruits, and malty sweetness. It became my cruising "go-to", although as noted, possibly by default. jbrus (4883), Delft, Netherlands
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 28, 2003 Not so very different from the normal Palm Speciale. Less sweet though like Palm Speciale used to be with a little more alcohol. Aroma is light spicy combined with whiskey or oak and sweet malts. Light amber color, off-white head, good lace. The flavor is light spicy/pine/oak and maybe even some licorice.
