Orangy, keggy light head. Sweet, slightly creamy aroma. Served cool, so fizzy palate is a little harsh. Taste is a mellow malty base, but some nice nutty hints and a little hint of wild mushrooms. Smooth and creamy, very quaffable at 5.4%. Pleasant finish too.

Dec 2, 2007 Bottle from BC Liquor Store. Pale amber body. Odd grassy aroma, not quite skunky hint to it. Bit malty, dilute flavour. Blah. Average palate. Disappointing.

Nov 15, 2007 Can 33 cl. Amber colored with a fest-fading head. The beer has a nice malty taste with a nice bitter aftertaste. Not a very special beer but above average for sure!

Oct 8, 2007 Maybe not Belgium’s most complex beer, but a darn good one when you consider the style. golden, with a crisp white head. Smooth mix of rich malt and spice out of proportion to its ABV. Crisp slightly spicy finish. a lot of punch packed into this small beer.

Sep 24, 2007 9/23/2007: Palm Speciale pours a clear amber color with an off-white head and a mild amount of carbonation. It has a soft, sweet malty flavor that has undertones of toffee and roasted malt. It has a very smooth texture. This is a great beer for that I could see myself drinking any day, any time, any place. It has a nice color, isn’t too sweet, not to bitter, and a decent body without being too heavy or too light.

Sep 20, 2007 Disappointing and undistinguished Belgian ale. Clear bronze with a fat pillowy head. Peppery aroma with some dusty attic, ginger beer and Rumtopf. Medium-bodied and syrupy with a disappointingly abrupt finish - where’ditgo??? Oversweet and malty, with toffee dominant over diluted tropical fruit juice. Some English bitter-like characteristics, but not the good ones. Too thin and sweet to be sessionable, yet not robust enough to work as a sipper. Found it a struggle to drink in the end.
