It’s the roasted Champagne Malt which gives PALM its amber color, but without being heavy. Also available bottle-conditioned as Palm Hergist.

From bottle. Amber colour with a steady medium head. Clear. Malty aroma. Sweetish, caramel flavours, still well-balanced. A neutral beer that is still quite likeable.

Bottle. Clear amber with a small, collapsing, white head. Sweetish aroma of malt and caramel with a bit of fruitiness. Sweet malty flavor with caramel, a bit yeasty, with light bitterness in the finish. A rather light body.

Bottle: Below avarage for a Belgian Ale, would beat many lagers though. Medium body, malty and sweet.

330ml bottle at Belgian Beer Café, Sydney. Some nice rich toffee-like malt and fruit on the nose. Pours a clean copper body with a reasonably dense white head and lace. Nice caramel malt richness to it, with welcome hints of fruit and lightly bitter finish. I’d say this would make a decent Belgian session ale.
