Apr 1, 2007 Sweet malty caramel. Sugary sour, apple aromas. Medium head. Burgundy, red, rust color. Fairly translucent. Caramel flavor. Light body. wheat. sour. very sweet bitterness. Finishes like it should taste stronger. Unsettled bitter finish. very sour bite.

Mar 20, 2007 Not very good. An amber colored beer. Light malt in the aroma and considerable diacetyl in the flavor, but some malt below that. Well carbonated.

Mar 13, 2007 If you’re going to have this at a Belgian themed restaurant it had better be the first as your tastebuds are going to be somewhat overwhelmed by the stronger beers on offer. As an aperitif beer after the obligatory walk to the BBC in Harrington street this works well. Clean coppery hue and a fine head in its own glass (of course, even though a Tripel Karmeliet I had later was served in a, gasp, Stella glass). The nose is muted but biscuity and pleasant. An equally clean taste is present with malt and aroma hops in a good balance. Very few esters seem to be present here and interestingly it is an acceptable beer at the cold tempertaures with which it was served. It is surpassed by others on the night but as a starter and potential session beer this has fine merit.

Mar 7, 2007 Bottle 30cl. Poured a deep red amber, with a small wispy white head. Oaky malt aroma, with hints of fruit, though faint. Quite a rich flavour of oaky malt, hints of sweetness, very tasty despite the bitterness in the finish being a little watery. Thick palate, low carbonation. Decent tasty beer, good for sessions.
