I had this at a Brazilian restaurant in downtown Albuquerque. I can say that it was certainly fresh and they kept it well, because it had a semi-sweet aroma of wheat, grains, lemons and yeast. Very fresh smelling and tasting, and while it wasn’t a complicated beer, it had very few defects. I enjoyed it, and the only thing I can say I didn’t like too much was how fizzy and soda-like it was on my palate.

Pours a pale yellow from the bottle, with a bubbly white head that lasts quite a long time. Corny aroma, not very appetizing. Tastes the same, like a bland, but corny, macro parading as a micro. Really not terrible, I would imagine this going well with a sunny day, maybe on the beach.

out of the bottle - pours a very clear, very pale golden-straw color. small-medium frothy white head that becomes small but still remains. thin lacing. little aroma. a little citrus. flavor is so watered down you can hardly distinguish them. but can barely pick up some pineapple and maybe some lemon. I was very disappointed this one. Kept thinking exotic and brazil and all I got was the tiny hint of pineapple in a bud light.l

This beer was given to me as a sample to try. Drank it outta the bottle while I was cooking dinner. Very watery, not much flavor at all. Weak!

Can’t say that I was all that impressed. I think this was the first Brazillian beer that I’ve had but it didn’t make me want to run out and find any others. Blah.

Rating for Palma Louca Wild Palm Lager (Bottle code: VHL 04/11/04, 052656LOTE5)

Wow. Looks like I’m going Against The Grain on this one. I bought this on the cheap and was totally expecting a skunk. Surprisingly, upon opening I got aromas of honey, all honey... with light herbs and clove under. So, now I’m afraid to sip this average-looking, white over golden beer. But there’s more honey along with a moderate bittersweetness in the flavor. Thoroughly impressive, with a seltzery-fizz on the tongue for a quick and crisp fadeaway.

Light yellow body with a white head. The aroma is fresh carrots and pineapple. The taste has some light carrots and potatoes. The body is thin and this has a metallic, coppery finish. Nothing offensive.

Bottle. "Palma Louca Wild Palm Lager Beer". Wow, this is an interesting aroma. Citrus sweet notes. Very sugary and minty. Almost like peppermint patties or something. Transparent pale golden color with a small white head that disappears quickly. Sweet, sugary start, staying grainy and sweet throughout. Not much else happening. This is like unfermented sweet wort or something. Not horrible, just cloying and non-beer like.
