Commercial Description:
A smooth oatmeal stout that is black and opaque with a roasted flavor and high hop bitterness that balances the maltiness. The oatmeal gives it a smooth full body and the dark malts infuse hints of coffee and chocolate. Proclaimed by a former Bass Brewery brewer as the "best stout he's had in America." We agree, and think you will too. 39 IBU.

A nice stout with a deep dark color. liked the flavor and the finish. This was a very nice stout did seem to be a tad watery. Whished this had more umph in the chocolate and coffee flavors. Good brew needs some work.

I enjoyed this slightly out of the way joint. The tap pour was pretty dark, almost black. By the time I got the glass the head was a minimal dark tan. Big roasty choco-malt nose. More dark roasty malt in the flavor, maybe just a tinge of espresso. Medium-bodied to start...seemed to thin out considerably. Bitter finish was nice. Very adequate.

Syrupy molasses character. Stark overtones, very bitter, like chewing on tree bark.

Draught. Body is black. Aroma is moderately malty (roasted grain, mild coffee, dark bread). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter, lightly acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, slightly husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
