HumbertHumbert (77), Denver, Colorado, USA Aug 20, 2006 Batch One - bottle cellared for at least 2 years. After popping the cork, the aroma had a slightly metallic but still yeasty edge. Amazing distinction between the aroma and flavor - almost like dinking two different beers. Deep honey flavor with a touch of hop balance and a long bread-dough finish. Nice hints of Jumex tropical nectars. Remarkably drinkable - wish I’d had more of these. A great beer for a stormy Colorado weekend. brewheaven (1), USA does not count Feb 10, 2003 I really enjoyed this beer, talked to the brewer at the Strong Ale festival in Boulder - he used all belgian malt and 5 (not 2) strains of yeast. Fairly complex but a perhaps little too sweet. He told me each batch of Belgian is a different style so it's hard to get any one "dialed in". BeerandBlues2 (2510), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Oct 12, 2004 Updated: Jun 24, 2005Pours copper with a rocky cream colored head and spotty lacing. Honey wheat and malt aroma with a fruity grape yeast nose. Honey wheat flavor with a sweet yeast body. Warm and creamy fizzy palate, a tad spicy. BrewDad (1691), Olympia, Washington, USA Sep 29, 2006 A deep rich reddish color with a light head. Poured in a correct glass this Belgian nectar was awesome. The High alcohol did not take from the taste and this was a great easy to drink after dinner for desert brew. Great Job. Crosling (1660), Loveland, Colorado, USA Mar 19, 2005 Draught @ Palmer Lake Brewing Company. Brownish Gold. Dark in color for the style, but i’m not stylistic when it comes to beer, so I don’t care. Lovely, yeasty, fruity aroma with hints of bubble gum, banana, pear and clove. Spicy, citrusy, phenolic and very fruity with notes of bubble gum and clove. An enjoyable brew.
