Drank it from a bottle in Shem Creek, SC. It was okay, I had heard from others from the Midwest who I met in SC that it was not good. I really wanted there Pale Ale but they did not have it. The general taste was good but there was a slight unsatisfying taste that was hard to place. A little bit bitter. It was a little bit like an end of the road batch but not bad enough to be off. The sad part about it is that the underlying taste was good just a bad delivery.

Bottle from a friend. Pours clear copper with a big beige head. Sweet malt aroma with caramel, peaches and a bit of tartness. Caramel malt flavor with some fruit and a bitter hop finish. Odd beer as the different notes and flavors didn’t quite come together, but definitely drinkable and certainly not boring.

Bottle from Matty. Poured a clear medium orange color. The head was long lasting and light tan. A nice sheet of lace was left behind on the glass. Smelled of brown sugar, light yeasty bread dough, and a whiff of grass. Light to medium bodied and dryish with mild bitterness at the end. I tasted sparing spicy malt, grassy/earthy hop, and wet stone. The malt backbone was a little lacking, but this was a decent beer.

Solid tasting beer with rich malts and a definite piny presence that makes it worth the time and effort.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a small white head. The aroma is moderately sweet, bready malt with light floral hops. The flavor has mild caramel malt, bready, and a slight bitterness to the finish. Pretty standard boring amber.

Enjoyed at the Charleston Crab House - from a 12 oz bottle this brew poured a cloudy orangish color with a beige head. Little head. Biscuity, malty and floral in the nose - nice smooth flavor - malty and caramel. Very easy to drink - so I had a couple with my meal. I have been pleasantly surprised by both Palmetto offerings I have tried so far. I will have to pick some up and take home to NC with me.

Light brown, reddish. Low head. Sweet enough, but good background dryness. Earthy and grassy, with a good bitter finish, though again not much hop aroma. Interesting and decent.

bottle, east bay meeting house bar & cafe, charleston sc. nice way to start my vaca in charleston, easy going amber that is orange-copper and a bit hazy. light tan tall thick foamy head. aroma is light roasted caramel malt, also light caramel malt flavor with a lot of nutty/grassy hops for a standard amberr ale. not bad.

Draught @ The Griffon in Charleston. Clear amber color with off-white head. Fruity aroma has slight whisper of hops, teeny bit of phenol but not enough to put off. Thin finish is a little watery and prickly mouthfeel. Decent flavors. Slight infection noted. But light breadiness, enough hops keep it drinkable and good enough.
