wheelz843 (203), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Oct 19, 2009 bottle. pours a cloudy bronze with medium head.has a wheaty and bit hoppy aroma. kind of flat tasting and bitter with faint hints of fruit and honey. bitter aftertaste with not much of a kick. milewide (609), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Sep 25, 2009 Gold color with some haze. Limited aroma and malt sweetness. Lots of hop bitterness in after-taste. MrBunn (1521), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 23, 2009 Bottle with thanks to coyotehunter. Pours a light orange with some haze and a medium-sized foamy head. Aromas are lightly citrusy with a bit of floral and skunked hops added in. Flavor is OK, but not that great. Hops presence is more of a bitterness than anything else (think ESB or something). Malt and hops are balanced against each other well, but they are just not that interesting. dmschefke (371), Eastpointe, Michigan, USA Aug 13, 2009 Pours a nice pale, hazy yellow gold with thick white head, lots of lacing. Aroma of earthy hops, slight citrus, some floral notes, and not a lot else. Flavor matches, but just comes together horribly. This has got to be one of the worst IPAs I have had. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 14, 2009 Dark straw/light copper wire pour with nose of hops, florals, malt. Tastes caramel malty, with faint hops, citrus, and some floral and spicy notes, Good, but not great. Does get a bit astringent late. phishpond417 (1861), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Jun 28, 2009 As much as i liked it (which wasn’t very much) i would say this wasn’t true to an IPA style at all. Not quite as hoppy as it should be. Rather weak in fact. The colour which i was hoping for bright orange, poured a pretty dull caramel colour. Aroma was hops with some floral notes. Taste was an odd progression that started off malty, semi sweet then finally faded into a tiny burst of something that would be bitter. Not quite astringent like a hopfeel but just a soft peck of bitterness. Back to the drawing board! WakeandBake (422), Greenville, Michigan, USA Jun 26, 2009 Bottle . A hazy golden orange color with a thin soapy off white head, slight lacing ,medium carbonation. Aroma of musty malt grain, citrus, caramel and yeasty fruit notes. Flavor was better than expected , caramel malt, mild citrus and a bitter floral hop profile. Nice full muthfeel , medium body, nice bitterness, slightly dry, long bitter finish.
This was pretty good and drinkable Rciesla (3510), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Jun 1, 2009 PPRBSG09. Pours a pale golden body with a white head. Citrus notes with a thin water body. l Some earthy and floral notes not great overall.
