| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 8, 2009 This is definitely a rare gem. Pours light gold with nice white head. Excellent hoppy citrusy aroma. Flavor is also very hoppy. This is definitely a very good IPA. Braudog (3773), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Oct 4, 2009 Bottle. Attractive pour -- bright golden/orange, with a firm and tall top. The aroma is a bit of a surprise -- woodsy, ashy even. Indeed, this drinks with a far earthier component than most American IPAs, but I still love it -- well rounded with a solid malty backbone, topped off with this rock-hard kick of pine forest mulch. I can (and will) drink a pile of this very good beer. (#3693, 10/4/2009) awiseman01 (372), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA

Pours an ugly yellow. Mild hop nose and flavor. Pale and bitter. Not too appeasing. flatmatt (228), Northville, Michigan, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 11, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours gold with a large white head. Aroma is of citrus, pine, and pineapple hops with a mild sweetness, though fairly light overall. Interesting flavor profile, with a nice pineapple hoppiness leading the way, backed by strong grapefruit and peppery hops. Biscuit malt backbone. A pleasant surprise. milewide (619), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 29, 2009 Modest, aroma, taste and body. Not one of the better IPAs. More of a pale ale. MrBunn (1548), Western, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 28, 2009 Bottle with thanks to Matt. Pours a cloudy light amber with a large fluffy head. Aromas are skunky hops with a little bit of a lemon and pine edge to them. Still, they are weak. Flavor is a little better, but the hops presence seems to be more of just a bitter flavor than anything exciting. Kind of a lemon peel presence that runs against the biscuity and honey sweetness of the malt. Not bad, but not that great, either. 17thfloor (1502), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Aug 26, 2009 12oz bottle thanks to FunkyBrewster. Ha.. I laugh at this one because... well just because. Pours an ugly murky thin yellowy peach color with a thin frothy white head. Sweet aroma, trademark Sand Creek moldy biscuit, potpourri like hops, skunk, sweet floral herbal, just odd. Flavor is pure skunk, some might have been fooled on this one, but it’s a dud, peachy grapefruit, I wonder if this brewery actually uses grains or is it just a large scale extract operation? syrupy metallic sweetness, that’s a first, tongue scorchingly bitter, in a medicinal/chemical way, red food-coloring... really??? really???, freaking dismal....
