Poured a clear golden color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate citrus hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bitter flavor with a medium bitter finish of moderate duration.
This is an above average brew. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 14, 2009 Pours turbid orange with 2-finger white head. Nose is caramel malt, hopcitrus, black pepper, tangerine. Tastes very hoppy, with a solid caramel malt backbone, and a lot of black epeppery and tangerinety citrus notes that balance out well. This one is delicious. Earlier Rating: 6/30/2009 Total Score: 4 Bottle from Craft, labeled as "Lilja’s Hop Ness Monster". Poured turbid orange with 2-finger off-white head. Nose is caramel malt, heavy hops, tropical citrus, peppery, a rich palate, nicely complex, and a beer I tried to find again, but it was all gone. Shit! Sammy (4056), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Oct 4, 2009 Bottle. Attractive pour -- bright golden/orange, with a firm and tall top. The aroma is a bit of a surprise -- woodsy, ashy even. Indeed, this drinks with a far earthier component than most American IPAs, but I still love it -- well rounded with a solid malty backbone, topped off with this rock-hard kick of pine forest mulch. I can (and will) drink a pile of this very good beer. (#3693, 10/4/2009) TomDecapolis (3208), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA

It pours a gold with a half-inch white head. The flavor starts with light-moderate citrus. There’s a slight paper flavor in the background. The finish has moderate grapefruit happiness. Light-medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel. decaturstevo (2010), decatur, Tennessee, USA
