Adorable sandalwood aroma with slight sour notes. Doesn’t smell like beer really but it’s certainly gorgeous. Flavour is very similar but just not quite so good. Lovely fruity notes and a pleasing dryness and more strong sandalwood. Just not enough character or sourness compared to the aroma. blankboy (3214), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Pours a hazy copper-brown with lots of floaties and a spare diminishing tan head. Mild aroma with a light tartness, malt, yeast, burnt sugar and alcohol. Flavour’s also mild, not much flavour there. There’s light tart fruit, lightly toasted sweet malt and some alcohol in the finish. Medium bodied. Nothing bad about this, it’s just pretty dull, I wouldn’t bother buying it. tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Good taste - malty brown ale, some really nice sweetness, some spices, and a hint of tartness. Alcohol creeps in at then end. I love the sour as a world class beer but on its own this is prettty good. GregClow (2499), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Hazy brown-red with some little floaties and a small head. Aroma is quite malty, a faint tartness, and a dry edge. Medium body. Flavour of mild, sweet malt with a bit of roast, and a quick, vaguely herbal finish. Simple stuff, not bad, but the soured version is so much better. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 18, 2007 Bottle (375ml - green). Shared with blankboy and GregClow, my bottle via boutip. Murky brick red/brown pour, small frothy off-white head. The aroma is dry caramel malt, a bit leafy and a hint of lemon sourness - somewhat herbal. Taste - like a Belgian ale crossed with a brown ale - herbal, dry, slightly strong alcohol, somewhat roasty, hints of dry cocoa powder. Sugary mouthfeel, fairly flat, quick finish - a bit of a dry aftertaste. Interesting. Slayer85 (585), Firenze, Italy

Woody sourish nose with notes of fruits(cherries, strawberry) and yeast. The flavour has a light sourness with acetic, oaky and fruity notes, mainly cherry. Medium body, quite soft mouthfeel, acidic woody finish that is quite long and dry. Overall well balanced. I expected more, but this is an enjoyable beer. bu11zeye (5603), Frisco, Texas, USA
