Hazy amber-orangeish hue, with a rocky white head, leaving laces, mild wild yeasty nose, with a subtle green apples fruity sourness, faint oakiness, toasted malt, pinch of spiciness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a spritzy mild wild yeasty character, with a sour green apples accent, notable barnyard, faint tartness, toasted malt, hint of fruity wineyness, nice carbonation, leading towards a honeyish, mild tartness, bitterness finish.

Bottle: Poured a light beige color ale with a huge foamy head with perfect retention and lacing. Aroma is sour with some tart and oak and is also reminiscent of lambic but maybe a tad lighter. Taste is a mix between some sourness; tart some subtle oak with a long dry finish. I would probably have liked more sourness overall but I thought this was still very enjoyable. Carbonation is very lively and body is quite full with minimum filtration. I am now very curious to taste their other offering.

Any first impressions?
-A ravishing head of foam paints lavish lacing atop the murky tan cosmos (this is severely unfiltered!).
-Small haystacks are wisening up in straight wood, as a delicate sourness is predicted.
-The fruitiness of gooseberries and apples melds with the calculated sourness of old grapefruit, and the dryness of a wooden plank.
-The frothy, expanding carbonation is agressively deployed on the palate from the get go, but it softens up once it has time to breathe in the glass.

What if you dig deeper?
-The unified flavor spectrum is bothered by the rampant yeastiness.
-The finishing wooden dryness is conversational, well-leveled.
-I would recommend letting the yeast settle (if possible) before pouring and enjoying this.
-This is a capable Flemish Sour Ale, but its fruitiness and sourness are so completely different from that of their admirable American version (read "less present") that I must say it feels like a very different beer. Are barrels and lactobacillus intensity the only culprits?
-This one is obviously paler than the American version.

Bottled in November ’05.

Bottle. Hazy amber colour. Aroma is sour-ish, slightly bretty. palate is soft, with some light citrus, and woody sournness. Slight wine-like palate. Not intensly sour at all, but very leasant it has to be said. I think i prefer the more sour version, but this isn’t bad by any means.

Amber body, full of particles, white creamy head, thick lacing; Only a very, very little sour: wood, apples, orange, unclear; Medium sized big bubbled carbonation, more harsh then sour; Medium sized finish where the carbonation prickles a little, strange wooden and harsh malty aromas. This beer is VERY unclear and I havent got a clue what it wants to be. I guess it is the least sour, sour beer I have ever had. Damn, so far from the US-Version.
