(Bottle, rerate 5 Jan 2008) Reddish brown colour with a firm, frothy, beige head. Slightly hazy. Lactic, sour and woody nose with notes of dark fruit, plums and hints of balsamic vinegar. Wood dominates. Taste is acidic and fruity with notes of plums, green apples, cherries, balsamic vinegar and a long spicy, bittersweet finish. A lot more balanced then my first try at the GBBF in London (Aug 2006). Very complex and actually quite brilliant.

Misty dark brown. Soapy, medium head. Very fruity. Like a cider scented with vinegar and a lot of carbonation. Heavy aroma with a lot of wood and sturdy undertones. Lots of alcohol.

Bottled. Dark amber coloured. Unclear. Off white small head. Cherries and light souness in the aroma. Very dry and acidic flavour. Berries notable. Mildly sour. Quite smooth and balanced. Is medium bodied. Has a citric and acidic end. Definately not as sour as the US-version, but still quite drinkable.

Thanks to hopdog for breaking over this much sought after European version... Appears a hazy orange with a small white head that slowly fades out. Lots of streaky lacing is left around the glass. Smell is of sour, tart apples, vanilla cream, light over-ripened fruit, lemon zest, lavender, & mild bananas in the background. Taste is of the mentioned aromas with tropical peach, papaya, and citrus standing out. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, fizzy up front but mellowing out, light funk, low acid, and apple lingering.
