#14 [Blind tasting @ Papsoe] Large fizzy white head that mostly lasted. Cloudy golden colour. Fair display of lacework. Malty base feel. Hint of fruit and citrus, straw and grain. Light grassy notes as well. Light bodied with a soft carbonation and a light dry texture. Light sweet and bitter flavour. Light dry and bitter finish. 3 / 5 / 5 / 3 / 12 = 2.8

_________ENGLISH TEXT HERE________ On "Agreste" label, for Eurosaga, 75cl bottle bought at the Iper supermarket in Serrapalle Scrivia. Orval pils. Colour is hazy gold, evident perlage with rapid head and discretly persistent even if a little spongy. Aroma is very yeasty, with aggressive notes but a slight sweetnes that kisses the nose at the end; flavour is a weird mix of a traditional pils (even if the "generous" - so the site - hopping is not so outstanding) and the sourness of the high fermentation yeast. Surely one of the most original ways to brew a ’pils’, but a bit too suspended between the easy-to-drink and the complex to be fully convincing; body is a bit watery, too, and this doesn’t match very well with the characteristics of flavor and smell. Good drink, but Panil does better.

Bottled. Courtesy of Knut Albert at RBESG. Hazy golden colour. Light barnyardy aroma, with sweetish belgo character, as in spicy yeast and esters. Sweetish in flavour with fruity esters and bit phenolic. Canned fruits also comes to mind. Mainstream Belgian Ale.

Bottle, RBESG 2007 in Glasgow, Grand Tasting. Pale and hazy straw coloured beer. Unusual farmhouse aroma, hints of oak. The flavour is slightly woody and alcoholic, with noticeable hops. Not undrinkable.

A Mes rate: Bottle at RBESG. Hazy dark blonde. Very Belgian spicy blonde in character and just a little dull.
