(Bottle) Shared at the PNW Christmas 2006 party at Oakes on December 9th. Huge white exploding head with a cloudy ocre body. Nice wheaty lemon nose. Flavour is very fresh and somewhat lemon peel. I really liked this one!

Golden body with an ultra lemon citrus nose. Slighty sour in flavour and not maly enough. Some yeast on the finish.

Slightly hazy yellow-orange; small head. Coriander, rubber/sulphur (too outspoken), citrus. Citric taste, with perfumey lemon and orange flavours, and, of course, coriander. Medium bodied, refreshing qualities. Not too bad, citrussy is the good sign, even perfumed. If just that nose hadn’t...

Straw colored with a white head and spotty lacing. Rather spicy nose; coriander or peper. Yeasty and a wet wheaty smell. Flavor is a bit sour with citrus and bread notes. Finishes out with citrus and yeast.

Quite white in colour. Floral, estery nose with a bit of wheatiness. Light fruity hop accent. Wheaty body. Quite phenolic. Not bad, but nothing special.

Very cloudy blonde body with lots of particles and some chunks. The medium size dirty white head quickly fades away to a thin layer. The aroma was cloves, coriander and apricots and reminds very much me of the Blanche des Honnelles aroma that I’m drinking a lot these days. Very yeasty beer with all the flavours of the aroma with the addition of some lemony notes and hairy apricots skin. The yeast and malt combines for a muffin/bread type of mouthfeel and flavour. Sure does not feel light or watery despite being only 4.6%. Rather tasty, not the refreshing type of witbier. Unfortunately if I’m looking for that spectrum of flavour I’ll stick to the better, cheaper and easier to find Blanche des Honnelles. Italy imitating Belgium? Mussolini would say, if you cannot conquer them join them.
