Usually beers in the 10% plus range are too sweet but this one is done very well and is quite drinkable with some pepper spices. Very yeasty like a lot of van steenberge brews but a great addition to Papago’s lineup of beers. They said they would have bottles of it in a couple of months, will be a great one to lay down and age. Cletus (5058), Connecticut, USA

Smells of dry malt, perfume, grass, some residual sugar, boozy. Tastes sweet and tarte with some dryness on the finish. Enjoyable. DuffMan (2769), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada

Nice flavours of sweet straw-like malts, good yeasty fruit and spice character, and a hoppy dry finish. A very nice trippel. Avengedpoet (325), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 10, 2009 On tap at Papago. Full, bready aroma with a thick white head. Quite dark looking for a Tripel. Taste is amazing. Very refreshing with Belgiany funk, as a Tripel should be, however the finishing gravity is a bit high and it finishes a bit too sweet on the palate. All around a really solid beer and very enjoyable. Would definitely order again. wetherel (1641), Encinitas, California, USA

Pours a caramel color with a nice white head. Aroma of yeasts, candi-sugars, cloves, malt and hops. Flavor is sweet, a little banana clove, touch of spices. Pretty good, but a little cloying. SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA
