Oct 1, 2009 On tap @ PP Carlsbad. Clear deep ruby with a one finger tan head, creamy with good retention. Smells of sweetened store-bought shredded coconut, dirt (not earth, which is good, at least for me), and some roasted malts. Flavor is the same--over the top coconut everywhere. Dirty finish with bitterness @ a 2. Light body with low carbonation. Not good, very artificial.

Mar 21, 2009 Sampled @ 9th AZ Strong Beer Festival. Coconut aroma on the nose stands out. Black body with tan head. Creamy coconut flavor is all you need to say about this one. Had two samples.

Pours a creamy dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is dark malt, coffee, chocolate, fresh coconut. Flavor is creamy chocolate, coffee, coconut, nice mouthfeel. Really nice beer, way more impressed with this than Maui’s coconut porter. Hope to see more of this in the future.
