(draft) Dark brown with minimal head. Aroma is light hazelnut and malty. Tastewise, hazelnut is noticeable but not overwhelming. Strong malty flavor, lightly roasty, balanced by light sweetness. Nice nutty finish. Very well-balanced beer, with medium body. Nice interpretation of the style.

Earthy maple syrup lathers its pungent wealth onto the boisterous nut oil…Delectable perfume reminds of a cross between Saranac’s Caramel Porter and Rogue’s Hazelnut Brown…Thick mouthfeel renders the caramel malts beautifully and plays off the maple syrup vapor with aplomb…Maybe a bit strong on the sweet nuttiness, but if you like decadence and nourishment like I do, you won’t be complaining with this one…Definitely my favorite of their lineup…

The beer as it resides in the glass a deep brown, head impressive in size, frothy in texture, and the left over lace a thick glutinous sheet to smother the glass. Lots of malt to start, nutty sweet, crisp and fresh with hint of the hops, front ambrosial, top middling in its feel to the palate. Finish wickedly hopped, delightfully acidic, droughty long lasting aftertaste, and one find “Brown Ale”, another winner from “Papago”, eat your hearts out as it’s “Draught Only”.

Mild vanilla, a little chocolate, a little hazel. Good dark schwarz-like coloring. No head. Thin. Decent flavor profile but not much coffee, nuts or fruit. Was looking for more.

Malty aroma. Black body with off white head. Flvor seemed to be of water at first. Got some spice flavor at the end. Not bad mild beer to drink.

This beer is a deep brown color, it is slightly hazy and in the light shows a deep ruby note to it. The head is a frothy light brown color. The nose is light with notes of caramel and perhaps a hint of nuttiness. The taste is fairly dry up front, but then moves to a note of buttery oak. Quite light on the palate. While a bit dry, there is a definite caramel sweetness here. I also get a hint of chocolate. The finish of this beer is the most notable part, actually a bit rich, creamy, with notes of woody tannins, buttery oak and a definite note of hazelnut that comes to linger and dominate the finish.

22 oz. bottle via BockyHorsey - Pours a clear brown color with a one and a half finger thick light tan head. Light lacing. Has a light toasted malt aroma. Flavor is light roasted malt with a tad bit of smokiness. Thin, dry palate. Light to medium body. Not bad. Thanks Bill. Wish Papago would get serious about bottling thier beer.

tap scottsdale beer fest-pours a deep brown hue with a nice off-white head. Big nutty/chocolate aroma with notes of cashews, peanuts, pinion, and hazelnut. AWESOME! some hops in there as well. Flavors are a showcase of various nuts that were all brought together with a good body. one of the best nut browns i have ever had!
