| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 10, 2005 Immense creamy beige head covers an almost black body. Roasted chocolate dominate the aroma, but a vast cereal and espresso underlying maze offer comfort to those who find the floral and herbal hops a bit too omnipresent. The date, fig and grape notes are genuine in the nose, but have the unpleasant consequence of unveiling tart and almost lactic acidity tha is too much for the roast. Light-medium body, more alcohol presence than most though not out of place. CaptainCougar (5458), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Aroma of sweet caramel and roasted malts with some butterscotchy diacetyl. Body starts with decent fullness and sweet dark caramel malts with some slick diacetyl notes before a bittersweet roasty dark chocolatey finish. If you take out the diacetyl, this would be a very nice imperial porter. MartinT (5055), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 18, 2004 Obese grapey/blackberry/blueberry esters topple the roasted malt and shove their way underneath their massive girth…Roasted bitterness mingles with a vinous acidity in the end, all rounded out by smooth treacly and burnt toffee…Fat and silky mouthfeel helps to increase enjoyment but the overgrapiness gets tiring in the second half of the pint…
