Tap at Pap. A nice black beer with a whopping 1.5 inch tan head. The most accurate thing I can say is it tastes like Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout that hasnt been barrel aged. Im serious. Spot on. Its great!

I’m reviewing the Elsie’s Irish cream stout (on tap) from Papago, and they’re holding a gun to my head for a good rating. But, to protect the integrity of this site, I’m going to be completely honest. No, seriously, this beer is fantastic. It’s got the awesome irish cream coffee smell and taste, but absolutely no bitterness--sweet, smooth and full all the way, the beer trifecta.

GABF 2009. This stout was really, really good. Nice surprise. Darkest brown in color with a small tan head and some lacing. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and roast. Flavor is amazing and fairly sweet with coffee, Irish cream, vanilla, chocolate, and bourbon or rum. Palate is smooth and creamy with medium-full body. Excellent beer!

Tap at Papago. Dark brown, creamy light brown head. Sweet coffee aroma with chocolate, light roast and the irish cream sweetness. Flavor is sweet and rich. Coffee notes are wonderful and the hints of chocolate and irish cream are sublime. Nice damn beer.

On cask at Papago. Really enjoyed this one...the aroma was INCREDIBLE!!! Dark bitter chocolate, rich roasted coffee, and perhaps a little burnt caramel. Creamy jet black brew with a thick milk shake head. Flavor had a bit of a charcoal quality but this one was a winner.

Fine chocolate, coffee aroma. Classic black color. Has great smooth texture of espresso and chocolate. like having liquid chocolate covered espresso beans. Very easy drinking beer. Another great beer on tap at papago.

Very dark, small head. Coffee and dark malt aroma. Rich and flavorful, nicely balanced, slight bitter chocolate, molassas, lactose, Brazil nuts, coffee.

medium dark woody brown color with a light tan head. big whiff of coffee on the aroma along with milk chocolate, wood, roasted nuts, malt and cream. the palate is a sweet (more so than i care for) version of the aroma with notes of molasses. finish is acidic and leaves a lingering mocha flavor. thin to medium bodied. creamy carbonation in the mouth... this one has potential...

new version/brewer on tap is full of roasty coffee beans in the aroma. flavor is full of them as well... mixed with a nice bitterness and vanilla that makes the beer so much easier to drink in quantity. sweetness and lactose content has been scaled back. on cask the mouth feel is unreal...8/4/8/4/15/3.9

on tap with dak... this is a damn fine brew. rich yet not syrupy... 8/4/8/4/16/4.0
