Growler aquired in trade with hellbilly (thanks!). Poured a medium and slightly hazy orange color wtih an average sized off white head. Aromas of ctirus, pine, floral hoppiness, and some caramel. Tastes of citrus, pine and caramel. Nice grapefruit finish. Not overly bitter with a decent malt balance. Alcohol content hidden. Very drinkable. Extra point in the overall for having such a cool name ’Hop Dog’ - I wonder where they got that from (I should have a lifetime suppy of this one!).

hazy gold pour with orange tints. sweet piney aroma with some grapefruit lingering around out back. flavor is a well balanced mix of piney hops, grapefruit juice and caramel. classic easy drinker and it doesn’t numb my mouth like the uber hoppy hop father. 7/3/7/3/15 =3.5 points added for cask version of this beer. extra creamy texture and additional hops added to the cask version 8/3/8/5/16 =4.0

Draft at Papago. Slightly hazy orange color with two fingers of off white head that laced the glass. Attractive grapefruity hop and light malty caramel aromas. Medium bodied with moderate hop bitterness. Flavor is similar to aroma; a beautiful union of grapefruity hops and malty caramel. Tasty beer.

Tap @ Papago: Pale golden yellow, mostly clear, with a medium sized white frothy head. The aroma shows plenty of pine and grapefruit hops, very bitter, but not showing the fresh, almost wet intense dry hopping that Hop Father does (though that’s not to say this one isn’t dry-hopped, just that it doesn’t show the same intensly fresh hop scents). The taste is bitter grapefruit and pine, along with just a hint of pale malts in the background. Medium bodied, medium carbonated. Classic west-coast style IPA.

Tap @ Papago. Had a mild to meium citrus orange aroma. Golden body with decent head and som lacing. Medium blend of citrus and hop bitternes with a somewhat dry palate. A refreshing brew to drink. 6/3/7/3/13

10/26/07 Tried this one while stoping by to pick a couple beers out the cooler. Cirtus aroma was more pronounced this time. Golden body with white head and this time that blanet lacinig was left on glass. Flavor seemed to have more citrus and not as dry and bitter this time. Small amount of dryness on palate and some juicy citrus aftertaste. 7/4/7/4/16

Light gold color with a thin white head. Subtle hops aroma with a light malty sweetness. A bit of sweetness in the flavor as well with a light hop profile. Not nearly enough going on hops-wise to be considered an IPA--far too light without much character.
