The beer fresh from the tap, pours a slightly hazy golden amber color with a splendiferous creamy white head that lingers long, finally after its demise, the lacing provides a concealing sheet upon the glass. Schnozzle is greeted by sweet malt, then “BLAM”, Hops all flowery and spicy, citrus like in its crispness, clean, a bodement of things to come. Start has a delightful malt presence, the hops big and spicy at the back, top is moderate in feel. Finish has a sturdy acidity, the hops omnipotent, with the sweetness continued to the somewhat dry aftertaste, a fine representative to the style.

In typical Papago tradition of making beers first as homebrews, Papago took local homebrewer Barry Tingleff’s recipe and brewed it up commercially for a Pro-Am competition at the Great American Beer Festival. This beer is a nice light golden color. A nice pleasent cascade aroma. Rock solid IPA bitterness. A slight amount of chill haze. It has a great white head. It is 7% alcohol and they said it was 70 IBU’s. It is a very drinkable beer. I think it is similar to a Stone or Sierra Nevada IPA.

Light gold, small head. Decent aroma and really nice flavor. Really good for a regular IPA, easy, big floral hops, sweet malts, bite at the end but quite flavorful...I might get a growler of this to go! On tap at brewery.

Had this cask conditioned with hops. That influences this A LOT. I have since had it non-cask conditioned and its pretty pedestrian CASK CONDITIONED:. This was the perfect IPA, with full hop flavoring, yet with a creamy smoothness that I’ve never seen in an IPA. The stuff was a nice warm pint, that laced like a doily. Golden Amber - I think they really hit paydirt with this cask conditioning. The staff told me they dry hopped the hell out of this stuff, with a bunch of hops sitting in the cask. NORMAL: Pretty boring IPA. It’s in the WC IPA tradition, so its pretty hop forward, which I like. But nothing really striking about the hop profile.

Tap @ Papago. Had a mild to meium citrus orange aroma. Golden body with decent head and som lacing. Medium blend of citrus and hop bitternes with a somewhat dry palate. A refreshing brew to drink. 6/3/7/3/13

10/26/07 Tried this one while stoping by to pick a couple beers out the cooler. Cirtus aroma was more pronounced this time. Golden body with white head and this time that blanet lacinig was left on glass. Flavor seemed to have more citrus and not as dry and bitter this time. Small amount of dryness on palate and some juicy citrus aftertaste. 7/4/7/4/16

Thanks to hopdog for sharing this growler. Pours a lightly hazy golden orange with a medium creamy off white head that left some lacing. Aroma of lots of pine, citrus a bunch of floral notes and caramel. Flavor was a bit earthy, hops, pine, citrus, cereal grains and some malt to balance. Nice bitterness level for an IPA.

Growler aquired in trade with hellbilly (thanks!). Poured a medium and slightly hazy orange color wtih an average sized off white head. Aromas of ctirus, pine, floral hoppiness, and some caramel. Tastes of citrus, pine and caramel. Nice grapefruit finish. Not overly bitter with a decent malt balance. Alcohol content hidden. Very drinkable. Extra point in the overall for having such a cool name ’Hop Dog’ - I wonder where they got that from (I should have a lifetime suppy of this one!).
