GABF 2007: Poured a very clear chestnut color with a good sized tan head. Caramel malt aroma. Not overly sweet which could happen with these. Caramel flavor with hints of raisins. Medium to full body that seems to be thin for an eisbock. Good warmth.

GABF ’07. Pours hazy brown with an average, frothy, light brown head, lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, nutty), light hops (flowers, grass), average yeast (dough, earth) with notes of dates and brown sugar. Full bodied, alcoholic texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

they say it’s 18%. can’t taste it until it gets warm, then ....woah!. smells really sweet, sticky sweet. tastes very rich, raisiny, malty and little hoppy. almost like an icewine....too much focus on the booze and not the character.

Draft at papago with unclematie. Dark brown with thin tan head. Aroma was a bit fruity and sweet. Tastes of malts, caramel, and fruit, maybe rasins or prunes with a little alcohol at the end. Not my favorite at papago but still pretty good.

On draft at Papago w/ Bockyhorsey and wife, cheers! Poured a dark brown color, thin head covering, fancy in the snifter. Server said it was 18-20%, although the aroma and flavor didn’t have a kick, nor did any after effects (probably more like 10%ABV, imo). Flavor was astringent, caramel, brown sugary flavors, minty, quite malty, yet just not smooth and enjoyable. Can’t kill it for being to hot, nor overly sweet, yet it was malty and astringent, not a great production. One has to accomplish much more with a product containing this much alcohol.

7th Annual Strong Beer Festival, Mesa, Az. Fermented fruit aroma. Rusty brown body with tan head. Flavor was full of sweetness and had an alcohol kick. Little spice also. Little too sweet for me.
