Commercial Description:
Pardál Světlé Výčepní Pivo 9.7°
Traditionally, the strength and beauty of the Czech brewing industry lay in the wide variety and uniqueness of its product range. Budweiser Budvar, N.C. decided to go against this trend and enrich the Czech beer culture with a beer of a new, original flavour particularly suitable for the typical Czech beer consumers. Therefore the brewery invited the real consumers, i.e. those who are fond of beer and have experience in its consumption, to take part in developing it. For several months, the aroma, colour and flavour were being tuned in the brewery. Combining traditional brewing skills with the experience of Budweiser Budvar’s brewers and challenging ideas of many beer connoisseurs resulted in the creating of the present Czech beer idol – “Pardál” beer, the perfect beer for sharp and full bitter flavoured beer lovers. The true beer for groups of friends who can label it : “It’s one of us!”

Bottle. Strong grassy nose with some sweetness and a bit of hop presence. Clear pale yellow with a bubbly white head. Really well balanced, lots of well-contained hop presence in a standard pils malt background. Assertive palate with some lingering sharpness. Really good for the style.

Bottle. Sour barley malt aroma. Dark yellow color with moderate head. Light barley malt and strong grass/hay flavor. Nicely drinkable - especially for a pale lager.

Medium shiny offwhite lasting head. Golden body with carbonation. Grassy mealy resiny caramel aroma. Dry-sweetish resiny hoppy caramel taste with wood notes. Clean palate. Watery mouthfeel. Thinnish body. Dry resiny papery hoppy aftertaste with lingering malty notes. Quite nice and drinkable. Really the hops that make this interesting. (0.5l bottle from some corner shop, Prague.)

Bottle: Golden coloured with a small and stable white head, cllean, delicate sweet pale-malty nose, underpinned by mild aromatic hops; light to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light bodied, not watery; short , mild sweet malty finish with a illusion of Saaz. A light, but decent Bohemian Pilsener with an odd name (pardál = panther)...........

Bottled. Sweet fruit, apricot and peaches. Malt and grain. Hints of flowers and dust, but it is a bit too sweet. An unpasteurized version of this would have been interesting.

bottle. Clear golden yellow, large white head. Hoppy nose. Light bodied but quite full of flavour. Malty, pleasantly hoppy with a tiny touch of caramel and roasted malt. Dry finish. I wouldn’t call it cesky pivni ideal but it really is good.
