Not really a boom, but a good Porter nonetheless. Dark and Malty. A textbook (Baltic) Porter. Sweet, wooden, hint of chocolate in the nose. Dark brown in color with tiny head. (and who doesn’t like a little head?) Taste is tawny with a bit of smoke and chocolate (did anyone say mole?) Formidable ABV!

Bottle @ U Medvidku Budweiser Bar. Black beer with a beige head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts and sugar. Flavour is sweet, some coffee, some roasted malts. Medium bodied, but not very interesting flavourwise. Highly drinkable though.

A clear almost black colored beer, with a thick foamy beige head. The aroma of chocolate, with coffee and dark malts. A little roasted. The taste of light chocolate, a little bread, dark fruits, like prunes. Some bitter. The aftertaste of light bitter chocolate.

(Bottle, Pivovarsky Klub, Prague, 20 July 2008) Dark brown colour with ruby hints. Frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with dark rye bread, cola and hints of spices. Malty taste with notes of dark fruit, prunes, dried figs, cold sweet coffee and dark rye bread. Fairly sweet, medium to full body. Rather complex and really tasty. Nice one.

Deep brown color with creamy beige head. Nice lace. Aroma is kind of gluey, roasty malty with a bit of chocolate and licorice. Flavor is sweety licoricey and syrupy, roasty malty, a bit metallic, coffeey. Hides alcohol very well. Palate is medium to full-bodied, oily and low carbonated.
