mattvervack (20), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jul 25, 2009 I made three visits to the tavern this month and each time have had the pale ale and it has been right on the money. True to style, with a very similar feel to what you can get in british pubs, albeit not cask. But the mouthfeel and carbonation is right, contrary to most US ales. In the past I have been disappointed with their ales but something has definitely improved here. I know they are brewing these cause I can smell it sometimes! Cybercat (778), Georgia, USA Mar 15, 2009 Comes out of the tap a clear golden amber - not remarkable, but at least appetizing. Malty aroma has some fruity and spicy hints. Solid flavor is mainly malty and surprisingly hoppy, and only mildly bitter. Texture is smooth, tingly, and satisfyingly sassy. Nothing spectacular, but worthy. Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Feb 6, 2009 Hazy dark blonde. The aroma is fruity with some brett. There’s a definite infection, but mostly it’s brett, maybe a little pedio. At this point, it’s at a nice, happy level. A week later and this will probably be terrible. But at this particular moment, the infection is going well with the fruity hop character. Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam Feb 3, 2009 Hazy peach-orange color with small off-white head. Smells like Brett, and the bacteria blends well with the hops even though it is unintentional. Medium-high carbonation is prickly. Dry, thin finish. The hops almost come across as being those in a Belgian IPA because of the nuance added by the bacteria. An accidentally good brew. BigSkyman007 (194), USA Dec 11, 2008 Aroma of orange citrus and light hoppiness. Slightly cloudy, light orange color. Lightly hoppy, with a hints of orange and grapefruit. Some characteristics of a hefeweisen. An easy drinking beer best consumed on a hot summer day. jrob21 (1251), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Apr 7, 2008 On tap at brewpub during lawschool prom. Got a kind of soapy metallic hop experience. Very thin and pale yellow color. Reminded more of a pils than a pale. The fuggles are not my favorite but they are apparent and there. Not going to fault anyone for using hops I don’t like. The malt profile could be a little more exciting though. Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Feb 10, 2008 On-tap at the park’s brewpub. Cheesy aroma, a bit of hops, soapy metallic finish. ElGaucho56 (386), USA Dec 9, 2007 Pours a rusty gold with almost no head. Very fruity for a pale ale, lots of sweet bubblegum, nothing amazing on the palate, very thin, some English hop funk towards the finish, but not particularly true to the style.
