Commercial Description:
Wonderfully hoppy pale ale with a bold malt flavor, followed by an assertive aftertaste, brewed for the British-style ale lover. Park Trail Ale is brewed with the best English two-row pale malt, aromatic "Fuggles" hops, and fermented with our special ale yeast.

I made three visits to the tavern this month and each time have had the pale ale and it has been right on the money. True to style, with a very similar feel to what you can get in british pubs, albeit not cask. But the mouthfeel and carbonation is right, contrary to most US ales. In the past I have been disappointed with their ales but something has definitely improved here. I know they are brewing these cause I can smell it sometimes!

Hazy dark blonde. The aroma is fruity with some brett. There’s a definite infection, but mostly it’s brett, maybe a little pedio. At this point, it’s at a nice, happy level. A week later and this will probably be terrible. But at this particular moment, the infection is going well with the fruity hop character.

Aroma of orange citrus and light hoppiness. Slightly cloudy, light orange color. Lightly hoppy, with a hints of orange and grapefruit. Some characteristics of a hefeweisen. An easy drinking beer best consumed on a hot summer day.

Rerate 11/19/07: Another upgraded beer. More hops, more flavor equals better pale ale. Not as good as the IPA, but this is good for the style now. <P>2/16/03: This was a dissapointing beer. The body was thin watery and so was the flavor. It was a bit light for a Pale Ale as well. Verged on being golden. Needed either thicker malt or bigger hops. The hops it did have made it take Eastern European with noble hops like saaz or hallertau.

Golden yellow, little head, med body. Apples, pears, smokey, malty on the aroma. Detected the fuggles hops a little bit. Somewhat hoppy on the palate, good balance. A standard session beer.

Slightly vegetable Fuggles aroma. Very pale, and only slightly orange-amber. Sweetish, cedary and a little earthy. Long, dry, slightly musty finish.

Poursd light amber with a thin mostly maintained tan head. Aroma of woody, herbal hops, and earthy malt. Taste is lightly bitter, with light toffee, lightly sweet crystal and earthy malt. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Easy to drink, standard fare EPA.

Pale orange, just didn’t look quite right, little head. Lightly floral and citric nose, some caramel. Flavor is hoppy, mostly floral, with the faintest hint of infection present. Sediment floating happily in the bottom of the glass, almost like proteins. From a draft??? Disconcerting.
