Commercial Description:
A rich and creamy brew, deep brown to black in color, with a delicious, full-bodied chocolate-like malt flavor and a smooth, lingering finish. A modern revival of centuries-old style of dark ale. Piedmont porter is crafted with our special blend of roasted, caramelized, and pale malts, balanced with traditional "Goldings" hops.

This dark brown beer seems to be struggling a bit. It’s thin in flavor, but sugary. It may have some quality control issues much like the beers at Park Tavern the last time I visited.

Best beer by far from these guys. Deep brown color with good head. Chocolate malt flavor and it stayed with me. Nice caramel hint as well. Good beer not the best porter but a good one.

Poured a dark brown color. Roasted malt and chocolate aroma. Flavor same with the addition of coffee. Light body. the trouble with these beers are that the flavors and bodied are too light.

Slightly watery aroma, some cola, and dusty chocolate. No head. Taste: mild tart apple, diacetyl, some chocolate. No finish. Watery and not very good.

I think the best thing about the Park Tavern might be the food, so order something that will go well with this Porter as it’s the best offering they have. Dark brown clear body. Weak chocolate in the aroma. Light body with a bit of sourness in the finish. So So.

Deep brown with reddish highlights, small thin head and little lace. The aroma hints of hazelnut, raosted caramel malts, lactic sourness, floral hops, and earthy yeast esters. The taste is sour (almost lambic like) and is very staight forward. Malty mocha and nutty undertones. Smoky and light bitter finish. This thin-bodied brew produced a fizzy and watery mouthfeel. The lactic nature is a turn off, not as good as expected, dirty lines or aging batch?

This is almost a perfectly balanced porter if that is possible. Flavors are really upfront on the first taste, giving away everything it has to offer and not saving anything for later. Lots of malty chocolate/carob hints with some coffee roastiness that give it a nice mellow creaminess and a luscious velvety feel in the mouth. A must try.
