| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 16, 2009 Bottled sample via lubiere. Dark brown in colour with fairly strong carbonation. Aromas are of stewed fruit, figs, caramel and roasted malts, and a bit of spicy yeast. More caramel and fruit upfront in the mouth, along with hints of chocolate and a bit of a molasses twang. Starts off medium sweet in the mouth, but dries out fairly well on the finish. Fairly interesting, but not mindblowing. JesseM (676), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 9, 2009 330mL bottle, courtesy of Lubiere. Thanks Luc. Pours a hazy, deep dark brown with a huge tan head, very lively carbonation which fades fast. The aroma is a blend of subtle malt complexities. Lots of dark fruit and sweet malts, as well as some yeast. The flavour is also very subtle, but there’s a lot going on here. Plum, red grapes, toffee, and the finish is long with a seriously lingering aftertaste that makes this beer unique (ish). Smoke meets mild sourness and somehow they almost work, but are just a bit too weird to be honest. The smoke gets longer and more drawn out as this beer warms, and it over-powers the sour. Very drinkable for the abv. Over-all this is a tasty and enjoyable little Belgian brown. TaxiDriver (945), Stadland, Germany
