tomciccateri (466), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Jul 22, 2007 On draught at the brewery, pours a dense, dark brown color with a tan head. Light-to-medium body, mice clean Munich malt flavors, Great job!. fiulijn (6010), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Aug 30, 2006 Draught at the brewpub
Hazy dark amber color; nice lace. Subtle aroma, with some nice hop and some caramel. The flavor is poorer, the body is thin, it has just some caramel. Correct bitterness, lightly aromatic hopping. Limp. Hazy nut brown color, lively carbonation, big creamy off-white head. Bready and lemony aroma. Light-bodied. Crisp, a bit roasted flavor. Clean but easy to drink - easy to forget dunkel. Sully (1362), Woolloomooloo, New South Wales, Australia Dec 6, 2005 As sure as night follows day does dark follow light. So, stout yeoman (actually skinny Chinese but it sounds better) bring me a litre of your desirable dunkel said I. Yeah right, be with you in a minute. Everything a good dunkel should be with its coppery colour and malty nose. There is a fine hint of chocolate here with a muted but nevertheless presence of noble hop, something missing in the mainstream Asian beers. A good experience but not cheap at the plus plus price of $14. jazz88 (2209), San Francisco, California, USA Oct 7, 2002 Tap. I found my way to the Paulaner Brauhaus on Mellenia Walk in Singapore. I had been to Brewerkz earlier in the day, so this was going to wrap up the brewpubs in Singapore. I liked the atmosphere at this brewpub. Eat some peanuts, drink some quality German-craft beer, and maybe get some food in the restaurant. The brewmaster, Helmut Schwichtenberg, spotted me carefully taking in the aroma, color, and flavors of the beer and came over to say hello. He explained that the recipe is close to the production in Germany but this is unfiltered. I also found out that there are Paulaner Brauhaus locations in Munich, Shanghai, Beijing, Manila, and in Singapore. All of them can brew different beers. I was just a couple of weeks shy of trying the Oktoberfest. The Munich Dark was a muddy brown color with a light brown to off-white head. It had a medium body and was malty, smooth, and had a great finish.
