Jun 17, 2007 a nice hefe. typical full bodied german that is refreshing and tasty. the flavors of banana and clove are there in proper measure. and a more than adequate and quality sweetness has been inbedded to satisfy. nut bready and substantial, this has an appropriate carbonation to make it smooth and almost chewy.

Jun 16, 2007 From bottle. Hazy dark amber body with a niche foamy head. Nose is ripe banana with some hints of clove. Banana and caramel in mouth, with a yeasty finish. Light carbonation makes it heavier than the hefeweizen, which is appropriate for a dunkel, still it is quite refreshing. On the par with the other products from this bavarian brewer.

Jun 15, 2007 Berlin Trip beer No.16. Bottle. Couldn’t find it on tap, so had a bottle with a meal. Yellow/brownish body. Small yellowish head. Bananas, some malty sweetness. Not much in the way of spices. It has a slightly medicinal flavour. Short finish. I was a bit let down by this as I’m a big fan of their weizen hell.

Jun 11, 2007 Bottle. Murky brown amber with a good head. A little malt and obviously some banana in the nose. Tastes unexceptional but solid still with banana and clove at the tail end. Easy on the mouth. This is my watermark for a dunkelweizen.

Jun 2, 2007 Pours a mahogany color with a ton of head. Not sure if someone shook this bottle all the way from Germany to Panama, it seems like it. Not the best style for the tropics, but for the style seems right on. The bananay esters are there, just like the Paulaner hefe blonde, but with extra malty, honey, almost butterscotch notes. Not cloying, and good long finish for the style. Never seen this before in Panama, and not sure I will ever again.

May 14, 2007 Bottle. Pours dark amber, nice off white head. Aroma of yeast, caramel malts and slight bubblegum. Wheaty flavor with toffe notes. Smooth, biscuity. Solid brew. How this ranks only in the upper 70’s overall is beyond me. This is an excellent beer.

May 12, 2007 Bottle, 50 cl. Cloudy amber, large but quickly disappearing fluffy off-white head. Toffeish and fruity malt aroma, some clove and banana in the background. Medium bodied, lively carbonation. Very refreshing flavour, some light sweetness, some acidity, and some bitterness.

May 4, 2007 Muddy darkbrown with wonderful fat head. Aroma of hospital, banana and wheat-yeast. Sweet flavor with similar notes and also bread. Great wheat beer!
