Flavor not as big on the wheat as some others. I prefer more wheat in this style. Smooth, but seems to be missing something. haukur (684), Reykjavik, Iceland
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 21, 2005 very cloudy, obvious caramel hint, heavily malty. This is actually a very nice dunkel but very very heavy ... floral nose, some bananas, caramel like I mentioned earlier, not something to gulp in a few sips ThomasE (5178), Copenhagen, Denmark

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 10, 2005 brown and cloudy with a large head when initially poured. Aromas are caramel, toffee malts with nice fruitiness - bananas and lemon. Flavours are malty and slightly smoky. Yeast, cloves and bananas in there, too, along with a surprising citrus zestiness that livens the beer up. Another good Paulaner. BeerBlockaid (548), Jacksonville, Florida, USA

First round the barperson added lemons. hmm, well without lemons...poured light brown-gold with a nice fluffy head and great lacing. very very smooth, drinkable beer in my opinion. I REALLY ENJOED IT. nice smooth palate. Aroma is of bananas and toffe. Taste is the same with some added fruits and brown sugar. very well balanced. I need to stock this at home for the less complex nights. ßßß turbothy (726), Bonn, Germany

The flavour is rather sweet but well-balanced, with a hint of fruits. A very well-made summer beer I’d say. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 9, 2004 Pours turbid brown with medium off-white head. Aroma of malt, toffee, hopcit, some banana, and cognac. Nice complexity and balance, with a fruity, citrusy, toffee finish. Very well made, as are all Paulalner beers, as far as I’m concerned.
