tupalev (2285), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 26, 2008 On tap at The Castle on KIng. Beautiful golden body, thick foamy white head, so well presented in its own glass, this is an automatic 5. Yeast, banana in aroma - subtle, soft. Great taste - soft malt/wheat base, some clove and banana - nicely balanced. Lots of clove in the finish. Mouthfeel is just terrific - soft yet actively carbonated. A really nice beer - like a refreshing easy to drink lower alcohol version of a Aventinus with the balance a little more tipped toward the wheat side of things.
mjs (481), Helsinki, Finland Aug 17, 2008 (Draught at Kaisla on 2008-08-16) Dark brown-orange colour. Cloudy. Fizzy quickly disappeared head. Banana and malts in nose. Medium-bodied palate with lot of carbonation. Banana, sweetness, light bitterness, caramell and fruitiness in taste. Paulaner22 (6), Panama does not count Aug 14, 2008 Best Beer. Dark colored, great taste, wheat and fruit aroma. Very refreshing beer.
Allen (559), Wölflinswil, Switzerland Aug 14, 2008 Bottled 50cl. It pours a surprisingly light colored beer. Dark orange. Much lighter in color than Maisels Weisse Dunkel for example. Fizzy fast diminishing head. The nose is of carrot accompanied by banana. Pleasant taste. Nicely balanced. Some cloves and nutmeg showing up. Poor lacework. Rather fruity (banana, berries, lemon). Dry finish. Nice and extremely refreshing. Borresteijn (448), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 8, 2008 Bottle @ home. A lot better than its regular weizen counterpart. Dark hazy brown, big head. Aroma of caramel, banana, spices, some laurel. Taste of banana, yeast, caramel/toffee, spice, laurel, roasted malts. Nice dry mouthfeel, rich flavours. Ramenen (333), San Salvador, El Salvador Jul 20, 2008 Thanks to ghawener. Pours a dark brown with a good tan head. Light bodied, good sweet taste, a bit more spicy than a regular Hefe.
