plovmand (1590), Helsinge, Denmark Jun 14, 2008 Draught. Pours hazy yellow with a fluffy white longlasting head. Aroma of banana, sweet candy and wheat. Flavour is very citric with banana, clove and spicy notes. Great thirst quencher. det2nj (31), Newark, New Jersey, USA Jun 12, 2008 Pours a deep hazy gold, bubbly and carbonated but probably less so than many other german wheats. Much head-- bright white. Aroma is not particularly notable-- mostly just wheat. Doesn’t
do anything too special on the palate at first (though it does tingle), but I picked up more flavors with the aftertaste, which is sweet and fruity, and sometimes spicy. Each sip felt a little different as I tried to pick up the flavors, which is a great thing. On the whole, it’s a good experience.
tastybeer (33), Washington DC, USA Jun 12, 2008 Bottle. Orange/dark yellow color, very good off-white head. Solid wheat taste, citrus, very bready. Good amount of hefeweizen spice. Very good refreshing beer, could easily drink a 6 pack in a day. Lalli (149), Helsinki, Finland Jun 10, 2008 Nice light brown/orange color, quite good head. Wheat, banana and hints of citrus in the nose. Same elements are notable in the flavor. Solid Weißbier. Collint (452), Sylva, North Carolina, USA Jun 8, 2008 Bottle from Papous Wine, pours a hazy dark yellow with a great foamy head. Aroma is yeast and and fruit. Great carbonation and very smooth. An above average Hefeweizen. Great for a hot day like today Meatmallet (120), Salem, Illinois, USA Jun 7, 2008 Poured a golden yellow with a nice head.Very hazy looking.Smells like citrus and fruit as it should. A little banana and wheat in there also went well together.Tasted more sour than I was expecting. Had more banana and lemon flavoring than anthing.Overall worth a try but not my favorite of the style. Still a drinkable beer. Kavu (94), Jyväskylä, Finland Jun 2, 2008 0,5l bottle. Pours hazy dark yellow, a bit orange with a mild head. Aroma is a bit too stingy with wheat, that’s also the problem with the flavor. I like my hefeweizens a bit more easy and this one is a bit too stingy and bitter for me. Despite it’s flaws it’s good and I’d drink it again. notalush (2628), Denver, Colorado, USA Jun 1, 2008 Seriously active cloudy orange beer, with a constantly growing head - crisp and lemony aroma, with a nice earthy, nutty wheat character, and a light acidity - a tiny bit of apple-ish sweetness up front, followed by light acidity and a touch of tartness - just a touch of banana and phenolic flavor - a lot of citrus arrives late, as the beer dries out and the wheat becomes apparent at last - not as good as weihenstephaner, but one of the better readily available german hefes, especially at 2 bucks a 50cl bottle.
