Bottle. Pours a cloudy golden body with a nice head. Low carbonation with the bubbles slowly dancing up. Aroma is of banan, cloves, light citrus. Flavor is lightly sweet, nicely crabonated, light banana flavor with some spices dancing on the tongue. Slightly dry.

On tap at Capone’s. Cloudy brass color. Citrus and wheat aroma. Pleasant, effervescent mouthfeel. Flavor is light and refreshing hops, citrus, and wheat, with a strong banana and clove finish. Would definitely order again.

330mL bottle: Cloudy amber with a good quantity of foamy white head. Smells of fruity yeast, citrus and pear. Flavor is very well balanced and rounded with hints of coriander and orange. Aftertaste is somewhat bready and leaves a tartness in your mouth but not bad. Smooth and heavily consistant mouthfeel. A very good Hefe.

tap at barley johns. Almost a straw colored pour w/ a thick white head and good lacing. palate is well coated and lightly creamy for a hefe. Aroma is light bread some clove, a hint of what i would have to say is orange rind, & the std touch of bananna. Flavor pretty much follows the aroma w/ more bread/bannanna emphisys. Nice hefe.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden/orange with a large long lasting white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of citrus, yeast, wheat, light clove, an light banana. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium creamy mouthfeel that finishes slightly tart. Very good.

Newly distributed beer, Bottle date of 12.06, Sampled August 2007
Pours with a frothy, three-finger thick, light tan colored head that sits atop an opaquely hazy, orangish gold colored beer. Lots of wheat & malt aromas are apparent as are some of the characteristic yeast notes; Aromas of clove, lemon zest, fresh crushed wheat, at times notes of bananas, sweet grain notes and some yeasty / bready aromatics. This beer has a nice level of yeast-driven phenolics & esters to it. Quite a nice nose to this brew really.

The taste has a sweetness that seems more driven by notes of clove & banana esters than by the grain sweetness; the wheat and barley malts do contribute some sweetness though. The carbonation provides a sharp bite to this brew, which, along with the light tartness & touch of hop bitterness, provide balance to the sweeter notes of this brew. There is a certain spiciness here that is most definitely yeast derived, but also brought on by the zesty carbonation / carbonic acid; hints of white pepper, lemon zest and maybe even a hint of wisp ginger. This is a really nice Hefe, one which I always enjoy having
