(Draught at Hyddan, Åre, Sweden, 19 March 2009) Cloudy brownish yellow colour with a firm, white head. Fruity, malty nose with banana, tropical fruit and clove. Hints of yeast. Fruity, malty taste with clean notes of wheat, over ripe banana and hints of clove. Well made and fresh with a balanced citric touch of yeast. Solid and reliable.

Bottle, 6 pack, LCBO. Man, a world class Hefe at the LCBO and I never knew...cool. Anyway - pours a beautiful hazy medium yellow with a huge frothy white head with great lacing and lots of active streaming bubbles - perfect. Very nice yeasty, dry, some citrus, lemon, hint of banana aroma. Taste - bang on style again - full flavoured, full bodied yet very refreshing, drinkable, and perfectly carbonated. Tangy citrus, yeast, lemon in taste - maybe just a little more here would get it perfect marks if I was being extremely picky and is finished a little short for me. But really, this is as good as a Hefe as you are likely to find from the bottle - I’d put it second only to Dennison’s on tap here in Toronto. A nice discovery.

[833-20071110] Tap @ Bier Markt (Toronto, ON; just called "Paulaner Weissbier"). Mild banana malt aroma. Hazy, orange body with a long-lasting creamy white head. Bit of banana skin flavour and an long slightly tangy orange citrus finish. Medium body. In good condition, hidden alcohol.

Bottle: Aroma is a little on the weak side for a hefeweizen. Basic aroma of citus, cloves, and wheat. Pours a very cloudy orange. Small, large bubbled head that dies quickly. Not much lacing. Malty flavor starts but finishes citrusy and slightly sour. Very carbonated. I never really understood the bubble gum flavor people describe in beer, but after this one I do.

Bottle. Cloudy gold with a strong white head. Decent aroma of cloves, bananas, mace and citrus. Flavour was banana packed with more spice and citrus fruit. Very refreshing.

$5.00 16oz. pint served at Front Page News in the Little Five Points area of Atlanta, Georgia. Appearance: Pours an opaque, obviously unfiltered, dark orange-gold body with a thin, fizzy, white head. Smell: Wheat male nose with notes of honey, caramel, spice, muted citrus, grain, and unripened bananas. Taste: Firm malted wheat flavor, appropriately tangy, and with a touch of sweet caramel. Light lemon and banana fruitiness. Dash of ground cloves. Light spicy hops with a mild bitterness. Drying finish with a hint of wheat chaff. As it warms a bit, a taste of unsweetened lemonade creeps into the aftertaste. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-high, fizzy carbonation. Drinkability: Recommended. A classic, expertly-crafted hefe from the respectable Paulaner brewery.

Wonderful aroma. Banana is particularly strong, some cloves, and a bit of citrus. Light hops and wheat. Cloudy (unfilt.) golden dark amber with creamy, off-white lacing head. Palate is ligh-medium watery with gentle carbonation. Starts sweet with wheat and banana, citrus. Light acidity kicks in for a weaker sweet finish. After is bready and a bit sweet, with a pleasant level of acidity and low bitterness. Fruity.
