Appearance: perfectly cloudy straw yellow, with a majestic white head atop. Aroma: everything you want in a hefe weizen, fresh, citric, fruity, but still somehow dry, straw-like, so very lemony, and that element of yeast fills the nostrils as well. Excellent texture, great play on the tongue, spicy, but smooth. Fresh, fruity, delicious. Medium bodied, tasty, longish finish, very memorable flavor. The yeast and citrusy taste dominate and create a most adequate beverage for any occasion. Drinkability? I could toss down a million of them! I still rank Schneider and Weihenstephaner up above, just slightly, but there’s not a thing wrong with Paulaner’s offering, not a thing at all!

Thanks to the in-laws for getting this one for me! Surprised I’d never rated this. Medium orange and gold, medium, lasting head, slight haze. Aroma lightly grainy, with a touch of clove and lemon. Flavor is wheat grain with a lovely touch of balanced esters, bubblegum on the front with equal parts clove and lemon on the finish. A delicate, tasty beer.

01.17.06 500ml bottle. Typical German hefe pour is clouded orange-golden with light and lingering tan head of loose froth. Aroma is inviting with mildly spicy clove and citrus hints mingling with an esthery sweetness and yummy yeast. The flavor is laid back moreso than expected but nonetheless very quenching with mild acidity (citrus, tart) and some bananas in breakfast cereal. Slick, yet tingly in its eff. I like that it’s mouthfeel is more asertive than many hefeweizens. How I’ve never had this beer until today is a mystery.

Hazy, honey-lemon body with lazy jets of carbonation and a thick frothy white head. Aroma of fresh biscuits, some orange citrus, hop fragrance, and a pinch of pepper. Tart fruit flavor and light wheaty body. A crisp thirst quencher that is well-crafted like all Paulaner beers.

Lots of fresh banana on the nose of this cloudy yellow pour. Thick head. Yeasty body with hints of banana among the wheat flavor. Yeasty with lots of carbonation
