I’m on my 3rd as I write this. Pretty tasty stuff. First time I have had a hefe-weizen. I will buy it again. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

Looks beautiful - a hazy, orangish/bronze that’s cloudy and balanced. Small, off-white head as expected. I can smell it from about 18" away as I’m writing this review. Smells spicy, and of orange zest, bananas, hints of lemons and sweet vanilla. Tastes wonderfully smooth and balanced. Yeasty, like sourdough bread. Trademark characteristics - such as spice, vanilla and banana - are well done. Mouth watering. A great example of a perfectly carbonated hefe. Paulaner always manages to brew a fantastic beer. Not my favorite, but certainly a great example of the style. Cloudy golden body, big puffy white head, aroma is citrus and banana. Good stuff. Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 15, 2003 Orangish appearance. Smells of wheat, oranges, and pears. Flavor is fairly light with a hint of banana. More of an apricot citrus fruit taste. A rather light palate. An enjoyable wheat beer. However it never hurts to take a swig and remember just how good this is... Beautifully sweet, crisp and refreshing. Creamy yeasty flavour, with a rich orange colour, and big frothy white head. Nice on tap or out of a bottle, this is one of my favourites. Kevin (1918), Colorado, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 7, 2006 Bottle. Pours clear gold with a reasonably sized white head; pour the last inch or so of the bottle for some cloudiness. The aroma is yeast, nectarine, and a touch of spruce. The flavor is almost identical to the aroma, but with more spruce. Toward the bottom of the glass it gets zestier. Predictable, but okay. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA

Nose is yeasty, wheaty (of course) with banana and light citrus notes. Nice, crisp, light citrus (lemon and tangerine?) slightly spicy in the finish. Good for the style!
