I really enjoyed the oily palate, and the fruity orange zest nose, but it becomes over powering if you really become attuned to it. This beer poured a large frothy head and held out a nice constant lacing thorough out. A good German Hefe, but I wish the pub would stop giving me that damn orange slice, which I end up eating and never put in my beer. gws57 (1138), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA

Aroma - Banana, clove, light fruit and grain all contribute to a traditional hefe aroma
Appearance - Cloudy yellow orange that has to be poured carefully because of the explosive, billowing white head that shows good durability.
Flavor - Excellent balance of flavors with the fruitiness of the malt complementing a light wheaty tartness and soft dryness at the finish.
Palate - Light body, healthy carbonation, smooth and clean palate
Overall - A very fine hefeweizen in the classic tradition from one of Bavaria’s most respected brewers. Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 25, 2007 Pours a hazy dark gold with a dense, creamy, off-white head. The nose is wheat and heavy yeasty esters: banana, bubblegum and a faint cotton candy. Quite nice. The mouthfeel is light, creamy and soft. The flavor is a solid, mouth-filling wheat with a distinct bubblegum note finishing with a short/crisp end. This is a very clean, refreshing and drinkable beer; the Germans certainly know how to make some tasty wheats. piscator34 (1131), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 28, 2004 Lovely aroma of banana and clove. The appearance is a nice balance of light and dark yellow/gold. I feel that it disappoints a bit on the finish, as the flavor doesn't really carry through on the aftertaste. However, this is a very good example of the German hefeweizen style.
