Yellow-orange in colour. Thick white long lasting head. Has a wheat aroma with some hints of clove and bananas. Taste of banana, yeast and some citrus flavours. Bananas in the aftertaste. A good weiss bier.

Pours turnid amber/dark straw with big creamy head. Nice aroma of hopcit, yeast, banana, spice. Tastes fruity, with some finishing yeast, cloves, and hopcit. As with all the Paulaner beers I’ve had, this one is well balanced and complex. Paulaner is the beer equivalent of JVC electronics.......maybe not the best in any style, but you know it’s going to be reliably great.

Can bought in Germany, braught back by a friend. Served in a weizen glass. Golden hazy weizen with creamy off white head. Bananas are so present in this, with cloves, and grass. In mouth, super fresh sweet malt, fruity bananas, like banana bread, rich and creamy mouthfeel, fresh. BB date is 10-06.

Perfect cloudy light orange/yellow. The aroma could be stronger, but has the right banana yeast. Interesting flavour with some acidity and sweetness fighting for dominance. Some spice (clove, cinnamon) in the aftertaste.

Bottle (12/06 production). Head is initially large, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy dark yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain, husks), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with a note of banana, light note of clove. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Pretty ordinary example, with a slightly odd tartness character (a bit like fruit juice). Bit weak in the mouthfeel department, but overall it’s ok.

6/10/01: One of my top 10 beers for sure, and certainly the best weiss-beer type; got turned onto this by a beer novice, actually, at a Bennigans of all places (great with a Monte Cristo, mmmm); I think he's less of a novice now. One of the best-smelling beers, too.

4/18/02: beautiful cloudy amber, with huge lasting head; awesome nose of banana/chocolate, citrus, apples, and yeast. Flavor almost as wonderful, ultra-malty for a wheat; but perhaps doesn't have enough 'edge' to it -- could use a bit more carbonation, a bit more oomph in the finish. I've been slowly going through a lot of my pre-Ratebeer faves lately; this one holds up quite well, though probably not a top-ten all-time anymore. Best German wheat, still a possibility.

4/15/03: still loving it, love the sweetness on this one, and it does have a powerful nose, but gotta knock a couple of points, I've just had so many better beers and German Wheats are not at the top for me any more. This is, however, one of the best. A rare beer that is worth savoring but also very easy to pound in large quantities.

Wonderfull appearence, exellent head, fully lasting, cloudy as it should be, yeasty aroma, quite bitter finish, average duration. A good beer.
